2019 Haier Maglev Cup Green Design and Energy-saving Operation Competition was officially launched on April 9, at the 30th China Refrigeration Exhibition. The competition is sponsored by China Innovation Alliance for HVAC and Haier Central Air Conditioning, supported by China Committee of HVAC. In order to further develop its creativity, the competition is the first time to open the registration channels for colleges and universities.

Since 2016, the competition has received 4,500 design schemes to promote energy-saving construction of 488.9 billion KWH. According to the estimation, 280,000 tons of standard coal can be saved, equivalent to about 5.9 billion yuan of electricity. This competition is the first time to enter more than 100 universities such as Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Harbin University of Technology and so on. It introduces new design concepts and solicits works to nearly 8000 teachers and students. It does not only open up a new future for school-enterprise cooperation, but also promotes the combination of industry, university and research.
