The 8th HVAC World Student Competition (HWSC 2025) successfully concluded in Milan, Italy. After intense competition, Han Dongjia from the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University—recommended by China Alliance for HVAC (CAHVAC)—won third place with her project titled "Air Purifier Usage Behavior, Effectiveness, and Optimization Among Chinese Residents."

The jury was chaired by Professor Livio Mazzarella, President of REHVA and faculty member at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. Professor Liu Junjie, CAHVAC Council Member and Director of the Tianjin Key Laboratory at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tianjin University, served as the Chinese judge. Master Engineer of National Surveying and Design, CAHVAC Chairperson Xu Wei, Secretary General Wang Dongqing, and Director of International Cooperation Wu Jianlin also attended the event.
The outstanding performance and excellent results achieved by young Chinese students on the international stage would not have been possible without strong support and generous contributions from the corporate sector. HVAC World Student Competition
The HVAC World Student Competition (HWSC) was initiated in 2016 by the Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning Associations (REHVA), in collaboration with the HVAC Industry Technology Innovation Alliance (CAHVAC), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the Society of Heating, Air-Conditioning & Sanitary Engineers of Japan (SHASE), the Society of Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating Engineers of Korea (SAREK), and the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE). The competition aims to provide a global academic platform for outstanding HVAC students to showcase their talents, enhance their academic and professional capabilities, and compete on an international stage. Participants in this edition were nominated by CAHVAC, REHVA, ASHRAE, SHASE, and SAREK.
